Crispy Air Fryer Cheeseburger Wraps

Looking for a handheld, mess-free version of a cheeseburger? These crispy air fryer wraps are everything you love about burgers—savory beef, melted cheese, tangy pickles—all wrapped in a golden, crunchy tortilla. Perfect for busy weeknights, game-time snacks, or even meal prep.

Why You’ll Love It

  • All the flavor, none of the mess – It’s a cheeseburger in a wrap: no bun falling apart, no drippy mess.
  • Meal-prep friendly – Make a batch in advance and reheat in minutes.
  • Family-approved – Even picky eaters (and gamers) prefer these over traditional burgers.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend for flavor and juiciness)
  • 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch burrito size)
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 16 dill pickle slices
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

1. Cook the Beef
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, break it apart with a spatula, and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until browned and no longer pink (8–10 minutes). Drain excess grease.

2. Warm the Tortillas
Place tortillas on a microwave-safe plate, cover with a damp paper towel, and microwave for 20–25 seconds to soften.

3. Assemble the Wraps
Spread a thin layer of mayo and ketchup in the center of each tortilla. Add 4 pickle slices, one slice of cheese, and about ½ cup of cooked beef.

4. Wrap It Tight
Fold in the sides, then roll tightly from the bottom. Don’t overfill or it’ll burst.

5. Air Fry
Brush each wrap with melted butter. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (195°C). Place wraps seam-side down in the basket (don’t overcrowd). Cook for 5 minutes until golden and crispy.

6. Serve
Brush with more butter if desired. Let rest 2 minutes before slicing in half diagonally.

Tips for Success

  • Don’t skip warming the tortillas—they’ll crack if cold.
  • Drain pickle slices well to avoid soggy wraps.
  • Don’t overstuff; keep it compact so it crisps up properly.

Make It Your Way

  • Bacon cheeseburger – Add cooked bacon bits inside.
  • Spicy kick – Use pepper jack cheese and sliced jalapeños.
  • Lighter version – Swap ground beef for ground turkey.

Storage & Reheating

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in air fryer for 2–3 minutes to restore crispiness.
  • Can be frozen before cooking—wrap individually and air fry straight from frozen with a few extra minutes.

Serving Ideas

Pair with:

  • French fries or sweet potato fries
  • Onion rings
  • Side salad or coleslaw
  • Baked chips and fruit for a lighter option
